Walter Richardson Weston III "Walt" Sunrise July 28, 1982, • Sunset July 28, 2025

Walter Richardson Weston III, affectionately known as Walt, returned to his heavenly home on his 43rd birthday, July 28, 2025, in Holly Springs, North Carolina. He departed peacefully after a courageous fight, having lived his life with purpose, joy, and unwavering spirit.

Born to William Richardson Weston and Mary Lewis Weston in Midland, Michigan, Walt was a true free spirit whose love of travel led him to serve as a porter for the Orient Express. His passion for culinary arts took him to the kitchen as a dedicated line cook, and he later found pride and fulfillment in construction and logistics, working most recently as a forklift operator for DHL.

Walt’s happiest moments were often simple ones: watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays, shooting pool, bowling, fishing, grilling, and immersing himself in movies, music, and books. Yet his greatest joy by far was fatherhood. Walt cherished every moment with his son and embraced his role with love and pride.

Known for his magnetic energy and quick humor, Walt had a remarkable ability to light up any room. If spirits were low, his presence and wit could instantly lift hearts and bring smiles to faces.

Walt was preceded in death by his father, William Richardson Weston.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his son, Jeremiah Weston (18); stepchildren, Kevin Carroll (25), Maliyo Sanders (23), and Ariam Carroll (8); his mother, Mary Lewis Weston (72); siblings, Tyrone Weston (48) and Shantell Daige (39); and his niece and nephew, Tyra Pesterfield (26) and Franklin Daige (3).

A celebration of Walt’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Headquarters/Galleria for Lori’s Funeral Home located at 1110 Holmes Street, Raleigh, NC 27610. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather beginning at 10:30 a.m.
