Veronica Lynn McDade, 58, of Raleigh, NC, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2025. Born in Uniontown, PA, she lived a life shaped by faith, strength, and perseverance. Though life was not always easy, her belief in God never wavered, and she carried that faith with her until the very end.
Veronica was a woman of conviction who found comfort and guidance in her relationship with God. She turned to scripture in both joy and struggle, always holding onto the hope and promise of His love.
She was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Service and sacrifice were a part of her legacy, following in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Lee Eilam, who also served in the military. Her mother, Regina Catherine Eilam, instilled in her a deep resilience that carried her through life’s challenges.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Philip McDade, and her loving children: Rachel Covington (33), SeDarice Covington (28), Robert Eilam (36), and Taronda McDade (46). She was also "Nana" to grandson, Chaquan King.
Veronica’s journey was not without struggle, but she lived it with determination. She did the best she could with what she had, and her faith remained a constant source of strength. Her story is one of perseverance, and her life is a reminder that God’s grace meets us where we are.
In her free time, Veronica (“Ronnie”) enjoyed connecting with her closest friends, whom she was grateful to have known. She could be so playful and lighthearted which allowed her to indulge in the richness of life’s simple pleasures — great cuisine, phenomenal entertainment, music that moved her soul, and good comedy.
Her family will honor her life with a private gathering of close relatives and dear friends. While they appreciate your understanding and respect for their wishes, they encourage you to celebrate her memory in your own way. As we say goodbye, we find peace in knowing she is now in the arms of the Lord — whole, loved, and at rest.
