Susan Cecil

Susan Elizabeth Leach Cecil passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Transitions Hospice in Cary, NC. Susan was born on March 28, 1962, in Greensboro, NC. She is pre-deceased by her parents, James Moore Leach and Helen Elizabeth Wilson Leach, and a sister, Virginia Neal Dowd. Surviving are Susan’s daughter, Michaela Elizabeth Saunders of Greensboro, NC, and sisters Deborah Johnston Leach of Greensboro, NC, and Kathryn Marie Leach Dinsmore of Des Moines, IA.

Susan enjoyed reading, gardening, and pets. She will be missed by her dog, Lulu. Susan was especially fond of helping her young friend, Kass, with learning to read.

At the time of her death, Susan resided in Wake Forest, NC. The family would like to thank the staff of Wake Med North Hospital as well as the good folks of Transitions Hospice for their compassionate care of Susan during her final days.
