My beloved friend, Rosa D. Porter of Jamestown, NC departed this earthly life on Monday, July 18, 2022. Celebration Of Her Life Ceremony and Funeral beginning at 1 PM same location Please wear a face mask! Obituary: Rosa L. Deloch Porter, also known as Rosa Lee and Rose, was born on April 27, 1959, to the late Emma Williams Deloch and Joseph Deloch, Sr. in Plaquemine, LA. She was baptized at an early age by Rev. Frank Holmes at Rock Zion Baptist Church in Addis, LA. Rosa, a native of Addis, LA and a resident of Jamestown, NC transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Hospice Home in High Point, NC with her loving and devoted husband by her side. She received her education in the West Baton Rouge Parish School System where she graduated from Brusly HS in Brusly, LA. To further her education, Rosa attended Southern University and A&M College. There she met the love of her life, Jerome Porter I. She married Jerome on June 23, 1979, in Addis, LA. From this union, their three children, Erica, Tiffany, and Jerome Porter II were born. God was always first in her life, and food was her love language. She enjoyed preparing and sharing meals, and serving the community alongside her daughter, Erica. She believed her mission in life was to give to others. "That's huge huge. Giving to others. I tried to give it all. I wanted to give it all." Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Jerome Porter I of Jamestown, NC; daughter, Erica Porter of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Tiffany Porter of Atlanta, GA; son, Jerome Porter II (Karissa) of Garner, NC; grandson, Jerome Porter, III and Ariella and Athan; stepson, Anthony J Stevenson; sister, Edith Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, Joseph Deloch, Jr. (Carolyn) of Port Allen Louisiana, Reginald Deloch, Sr. (Barbara) of Zachary, LA, and Kelvin Deloch (Lynette) of Baton Rouge, LA; goddaughter, Elise Thomas Brown of Houston, TX; godson Patrick Bridgewater Jr., special niece, Sophia Bridgewater of Baton Rouge, LA; and aunt, Geneva L Wilson of Mattapan, MA. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives, and dearest friends.
