November 1, 1970 — March 16, 2026

Selma

Robert Lee Williams, affectionately known as “Poopee,” departed this life suddenly on March 16, 2026, at the age of 55.

He was born on November 1, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Robert was the beloved husband of Melissa Williams of the home, whom he married on May 28, 2013. Together, they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and devotion to family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Lee Showell and Betty Gean Williams; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brother, James “Shotgun” Williams; his sister, Sylvia Williams-Snowden; and his niece, Nakisha Herring.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: Eric Williams, Taniesha Williams, Robin Williams, and Robert Lee “RJ” Williams-Snider (“Baylee”). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Aiden Hairston, Dakari Williams, and Carter Wright.

Robert also leaves behind his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edmond and Wanda Willis, along with a large and loving family. He is survived by his siblings: James Richardson (Mona), Curtis Brown-Williams, Regina Williams (Donald), Theodore B. Williams Sr. (Joanne), Thomas “Hamburger” Williams Sr., and Eugene “MooMoo” Williams (Jeannette). He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Michael Garner (Pam); sisters-in-law, Tavinia Aprille Chisley-Williams, Gail Garner (Brad), and Sara Ainolhayat (Antonio); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He shared special bonds with his extended brother Robert Comer (Dana), nephews Darren Mitchum (Meredith) and Dyllon Mitchum, as well as his dear friend, Matt Tillinghast.

Robert was a dedicated tractor trailer operator for the past five years and a cherished employee of Bailey Feed Mill in Selma, North Carolina. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

A graduate of Franklin Learning Center in Philadelphia, Robert had a sharp mind and a natural curiosity. He had a passion for electronics and was known for his ability to take things apart and put them back together with ease.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing, and, most of all, making people laugh. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his sense of humor left a lasting impression. He was also a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, proudly supporting his team through every season.

Robert will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the laughter he shared so freely. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
