Celebration of Life for Mack Junior Vinston Mack Junior Vinston was born August 10, 1929 to Mack Samuel Vinston and Mamie McLean Vinston, the second to oldest of 12 children. The family shared a modest home in Bunnlevel, North Carolina, where Mack completed his formal education at Shawtown High School. After high school, Mack met and fell in love with Lula Mavis McLean. The lovebirds married soon thereafter, and remained married up until his passing-a union of over 67 years. Out of this union came 4 beautiful children: Haywood, Stanley Rayford, Eldridge (who preceded him in death and Verlinda Kay (James). Mack pursued a career with Thompson Cadillac & Oldsmobile of Raleigh that lasted for over 30 years. During the course of his celebrated career, Mack accumulated a host of awards and honors for top sales and service. Mack was an upstanding and dedicated Trustee of St. John A.M.E. Church of Raleigh, NC where he served as treasurer for many years. There, Mack was lovingly known by all as "Mr. Mack". He is survived by his wife Lula Mavis, his sons Haywood, Stanley Rayford, and his daughter Verlinda Kay (James). He is also survived by his sister Catherine Dukes, and his brothers James Vinston, Willis Vinston (Kay), Wallace Vinston (Hazel), Tommy Vinston (Betty) and Otis Vinston (Jackie). He leaves behind three grand-children: Tracy Kevin (Angela), Martina Charday, and Philip Vinston. He also had 4 great-grandsons: Tyler Maxwell, Caleb Maxwell, Jionni Vinston and Eli Vinston. Mack was known for his slick sense of humor and sharp tongue. He spoke his mind, he shared his opinion (whether invited or not), and he always told you how he felt. He was passionate about his family, WWE wrestling, cars, and helping others in his community. On July 26, 2016, Mack departed from this life. While he might have lost his battle with cancer, he will be sorely missed and his legacy of humility and camaraderie lives on. Donations for the continued support of Mrs. Lula Vinston will be gladly accepted, as Mack would have wanted. The family would like to thank all for their support and encouragement during this difficult time, with special thanks to Transitions Hospice House of Raleigh, Phoenix Assisted Care in Cary, and the St. John A.M.E. Church family.
