Luis Gonzalez passed away on August 22, 2019 at Sunnybrook Rehabilitation Center on Sunnybrook Road, in Raleigh NC 27610. Arrangements are slated for a 1 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2019 Funeral Ceremony at Lori's Raleigh Chapel and Military Veteran Burial Friday, August 30, 2019 at 12 Noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro North Carolina. Luis Gonzalez, age 85, lately of Wake Forest, died August 22, 2019. Luis was born to Catalino and Josefina Gonzalez in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Mr. Gonzalez leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 52 years, Ramona, his three children: Luis (Shirley) Gonzalez of Wake Forest, N.C., Edward (Betsy) Gonzalez of Bronx, N.Y. and Stephanie (Yabar) Fereaud of Brooklyn, N.Y. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Luis, Dijonnaie, Edward Jr., Ethan, Waleek, Jakeem, Caslande, Jaiden, Isaiah and Nya. He also has a great grandchild who gave him great comfort during his recent years, Harlin. He is pre-deceased by his sister, Julia. In addition, he has many adoring nieces, nephews and family. He lived in the Rockaway area of Queens, New York for over 40 years until his recent move to Wake Forest. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He loved music and enjoying time with friends and family. He had a joking manner and loved to play practical jokes on friends and family. He enjoyed being outdoors and watching the world go by.
