Lois Carol Ford, 88, passed away the morning of March 13th, 2026 in the presence of her loving family.
Lois was at peace with her passing. She was received into heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ. Lois was preceded in heaven by her husband Robert Ford, her brother, Donald Schneider, her father, Donald Schneider, and her mother, Beatrice Schneider.
Lois is survived by her loving family. Her children and their spouses, Laurie and Tom Park, and Bobby and Deborah Ford. Lois took pleasure in the blossoming lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ashleigh Howard, Omar Farooq, Emily Mantovani, Giovanni Mantovani, Michael Ford, Cora Ford, Benjamin Howard, Mandy Howard, Lindsay Ford, Santina Mantovani, Reza Farooq, Annunzio Mantovani, Bo Howard, Zara Farooq, Ciro Mantovani, Kayden Ford, and Laila Farooq. Lois was anticipating the birth of another Ford great grandchild this year. Lois was also very fond of her nieces and nephews Trevor Schneider, Chelsea Freeman Schneider, Donald Schneider and Holly Kimbell.
In heaven, Lois is surrounded by her heavenly puppies, Bunnie, Amber, Nicki, Brandi, Barney, and Jon Jon. They are taking turns napping in her lap. Lois loved her puppies with her whole heart.
Lois was born in 1937 in Sheridan Wyoming to her loving parents Beatrice and Donald. Lois kept a love and reverence for the people and God’s beauty in Wyoming for her entire life. She married Robert Ford in 1955 with whom she raised her two children Bobby and Laurie. She made homes for them in Wyoming, California, Nevada, Kansas and Virginia while following Robert’s career as a highway construction engineer. In Virginia Lois earned her teaching degree from George Mason University. Lois touched hundreds of young lives as a devoted and beloved second and third grade teacher at Hampton Oaks and Annie Moncure elementary schools in Stafford, Virginia.
Lois had a generous spirit and took great joy in making holidays and special occasions memorable for her loved ones. She was a masterful gift wrapper and crafted seasonal decorations and food spreads for every holiday.
Lois loved learning about other countries and cultures through travel and books. She also loved children's books and reading to the young people in her life. Jan Brett was her favorite children's book author. Her grandchildren adored her personal stories of “the old days.”
Lois spent her final year studying the Bible and deepening her faith in Jesus. She made friends with the wonderful staff in the SECU hospice care center in Smithfield, NC where she took joy in providing them candies and treats in appreciation of their heartfelt visits and extraordinary care.
