LaMeisha “Mimi” Renee Young

July 12, 1974 – July 25, 2026

With heavy hearts and an abundance of love, we celebrate the life and memory of LaMeisha Renee Young, affectionately known as “Mimi,” who departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the age of 52.

LaMeisha was born on July 12, 1974, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, to the late Jo-Ann Cade and Rodney Smith. She was raised between Queens and Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout her life carried a vibrant spirit, strong personality, and unmistakable presence that made her uniquely Mimi.

Mimi was beautiful, spirited, funny, independent, and unapologetically herself. She loved to laugh, dance, tell stories, and enjoy life on her own terms. Those who truly knew Mimi knew that there was rarely a dull moment when she was around. She could make you laugh, surprise you, and leave you with a story you would be telling for years.

She was also an ambitious woman with an entrepreneurial spirit. As a Realtor and savvy entrepreneur, Mimi had a natural mind for business. She was creative, resourceful, and always thinking about opportunities and what she could do next. She appreciated beautiful things and had a love for fashion and style that perfectly matched her personality.

Mimi was a true foodie. She loved good food, loved to cook, and especially enjoyed Italian cuisine. She could appreciate a wonderful meal just as much as she enjoyed preparing one. She loved horses and the ocean, and she could happily spend time watching HGTV, imagining beautiful homes and spaces.

Movies were another favorite pastime, and two that held a special place in her heart were The Devil Wears Prada and Claudine. One reflected her love of fashion and style, while the other was simply one of those classics she loved.

Mimi was also an avid animal lover, especially when it came to dogs. Her beloved Great Dane, North, held a special place in her heart and was much more than a pet—North was family.

But of all the things Mimi loved, family was at the center of her life.

She was the proud mother of her three sons, Kyle Springer, Justice Young, and Christian Young. Her sons were a tremendous part of her life, and through them, pieces of Mimi will continue to live on.

Then came one of the greatest roles of her life—being a grandmother.

To her grandchildren, she wasn’t Grandma. She was “Boo.”

Her eight beloved grandchildren—Chyanne Springer, Tony Springer, Heaven Springer, Myzaire Springer, Ozyriah Springer, Xylohe Springer, Dracarys Springer, and Kylelahnia Springer—brought tremendous joy to her life. Being their Boo was a special part of who she was, and the love, memories, laughter, and pieces of herself that she gave them will remain long after her passing.

Mimi was also a beloved aunt to her nieces, Cayla Mahone and Chloe Dix, and her nephews, Cayden Mahone and Cairo Dix. She shared an especially close and loving bond with Cayla, whom she truly adored. Their connection was special, and the love Mimi poured into Cayla will remain with her throughout her life.

Mimi was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jo-Ann Cade and Rodney Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Kyle Springer, Justice Young, and Christian Young; her eight grandchildren, Chyanne, Tony, Heaven, Myzaire, Ozyriah, Xylohe, Dracarys, and Kylelahnia; her sister, Candice Cade; her nieces, Cayla Mahone and Chloe Dix; her nephews, Cayden Mahone and Cairo Dix; her beloved Great Dane, North; and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

For her sister Candice, losing Mimi means losing someone who shared a history that no one else could ever completely share. Mimi carried stories, memories, laughter, and pieces of their family history with her. She remembered stories of their mother, moments from their childhood, and pieces of life that only sisters could fully understand. That bond cannot be replaced.

Mimi’s life was not defined by perfection. It was defined by being hers. She was complicated, beautiful, funny, determined, stylish, entrepreneurial, loving, spontaneous, and completely unforgettable. She lived, she laughed, she danced, she loved, she struggled, she dreamed, she cooked, she built, and she left behind people who will forever be changed because she was here.

Although her physical presence is gone, Mimi’s story isn’t over.

She lives in Kyle, Justice, and Christian.

She lives in eight grandchildren who will forever know her as Boo.

She lives in the memories carried by her sister.

She lives in Cayla and the special love they shared.

She lives in every family story that begins with:

“Remember when Mimi…”

And there will be many.

LaMeisha “Mimi” Renee Young will forever be loved, forever be remembered, and forever be missed.

Rest peacefully, Mimi. May you find yourself somewhere beautiful, near the ocean, surrounded by everything you loved. Your laughter may have quieted here, but your love will continue speaking through every life you touched.
