Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing (May 15th 2025) of Joan Christensen Biesecker, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and dear friend to many. Joan passed peacefully, surrounded by those she loved most, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Joan was the beloved wife of Jerry Biesecker for 34 years, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and treasured memories. Together, they built a strong and beautiful family that was the center of Joan’s world.
She was the devoted mother of four children who were the pride and joy of her life:
Crystal Thomsen (Michael Thomsen) of Clayton, NC
Jason Christensen (Tara Sollars) of Clayton, NC
Jerry Biesecker Jr. (Casey Pate) of Benson, NC
Jackson Biesecker (Johnny Martinez) of Smithfield, NC
Joan also held a special place in the heart of her Sister, Dianne Christensen of Smithfield, NC. Their bond was lifelong and unbreakable, rooted in shared memories, deep love, and unshakable support. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Christensen (Mary Ann Christensen) of Charlottesville, VA,
Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, whom she adored and delighted in:
Tristan Thomsen, Dakota Thomsen, Sky Christensen, Lukus Christensen, Jaycee Biesecker, Mackenzie Thomsen, Colton Thomsen, Adalynn Biesecker, and Sayler Biesecker. They brought endless joy to her life, and she to theirs.
Joan had a zest for life that was infectious. She loved dogs, music, dancing, bingo nights, and the thrill of a scary movie. Her laugh could light up a room, and her presence brought comfort to all who knew her. Above all, Joan loved her family fiercely — they were her greatest passion, and she made sure they always knew how deeply she cared.
“Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister… She loved dogs, bingo, dancing, scary movies, and music. But she loved her family the most.”
Joan Christensen Biesecker will be missed beyond measure, but her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
