Jerry Eugene Sumpter was born June 3, 1976 to Jerome and the late Louise Sumpter. He attended Brooklyn, NY Public Schools. One of his enjoyments was making people smile and a beautiful smile he had! Jerry departed this life on Thursday, September 18, 2015 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He leaves to cherish his memories his son Daniel Sumpter, father, Jerome Sumpter, brother Jerome Sumpter, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; sisters: Lesa Scott of Hampton, SC, Michelle Lucas of Plymouth, NC, Yunepha Sumpter of Brooklyn, NY and Schjuana Sumpter of Durham, NC; ten nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends. Funeral arrangements are final. The family is planning services for Saturday, October 3 beginning with a 12 noon Family Hour and 1 PM Celebration of Life Ceremony at Bibleway Temple located 1110 Holmes Street, Raleigh, NC 27610.
