Jane Ann Elkins

Jane Ann Elkins, age 90, of Smithfield, NC passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Fargo, North Dakota and married to Kenneth Elkins for 43 years before his passing in 2011. Ann graduated from South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL where she was a member of the high school traveling marching band. She was a phenomenal sewer and made many quilts, table runners, and doll clothes. She loved getting together with her Grandkids and Great-Grandkids, as well as other special friends and family members. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, traveling, and spoiling her dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wayne Elkins, son Mark Charles Bruce, and great-grandson Stephen Michael Bader III. She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Bader, two sons, Steven Elkins (Anita) and Edward Bruce (Barbara); two brothers, Thomas Fisher (Diane), and Jerry Reed (Kate); and one sister, Joyce Newberry (Chuck); six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Dr, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare.
