James Reginald Greene Jr., age 40, of Durham, North Carolina, departed this life on April 5, 2026. He was born on September 25, 1985, and was proudly raised in Northampton County, North Carolina.

James was preceded in death by his sister Natarsha Greene; his beloved mother, Sheila Woodley Greene; and his paternal grandmother, Beatrice Greene Jefferson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, James Greene Sr. (Ann); his maternal grandmother, Melba Flythe; his children, Semaj Greene, Zenobia Greene, and Jazariah Greene all of Durham NC; and his siblings, Terri Greene, Jamie Greene, and Jeffrey Greene (Lashonda). He is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends—too many to name, but all deeply valued.

James was known for being a man who minded his business and moved through life on his own terms—firmly and without tolerating disrespect. Those who knew him understood his strength, his presence, and his way of standing his ground while staying true to himself. He will be remembered for his authenticity, his resilience, and the love he had for his family. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
