Jahmere Ronnie Garnes

The Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place Friday, November 1, 2019 beginning at 12:30 with the Visitation and 1 pm with the Funeral at the Funeral Home Chapel. Jahmere Ronnie Garnes, 17, a resident of Raleigh departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, surrounded by his family at Duke University Hospital. Jahmere was born on January 24th, 2002 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the son of Kawanna Goss of Raleigh and John Garnes of Poughkeepsie, NY. Jahmere attended Wake County Schools. Jahmere was a "Mama's boy", he was so affectionate, lovable, and enjoyed his cuddle time with his mommy. Jahmere enjoyed spending time with his family, playing games on his tablet, listening to different types of music, taking trips with his family; especially to Poughkeepsie, NY and to any beach; he particularly enjoyed sitting in the sand and watching the waves. Jahmere participated in the Special Olympics for a number of years and won various awards. Jahmere leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, his sister Janaysia Garnes, his brother Jahlil Garnes; of Raleigh, both of whom he adored and spent a lot of time with, his maternal grandmother Charlotte Goss of Raleigh, step father; Terrance Lassiter of Raleigh, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to Johnnie Rhodes for the time that you dedicated to being a mentor to Jahmere over the years, he enjoyed his trips and times with you. He was predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather; Prince Albert Ross, Maternal Great Grandparents; Jimmie and Nary Catts, Paternal Grandparents; Renee Yvonne Garnes and James Black, and Paternal Great Grandparents; John and Kathleen Steepe Garnes.
