George L Bullen, 85, of Franklin, Massachusetts passed away on January 5, 2024, at the UNC REX Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He had been battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) for the past two years. Born at Newton - Wellesley Hospital, he was the son of the late Lester J. and Frances (Jeffery) Bullen. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Barbara (Humora) Bullen, who passed in 1999. He is survived by his son Michael G Bullen, of Franklin, MA, his daughter Caryn B Couch and his son in law, Kiley Couch of Fuquay - Varina, NC. He was also predeceased by his daughter in law, Lisa (Stravato) Bullen. He leaves 4 grandchildren, Michael J and his wife Oona (Bond) Bullen of Nashua, NH, Patrick J of Cumberland, RI, Ashley L Bullen of Franklin, MA, and Abigail B Couch of Fuquay - Varina, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Jane White of Uxbridge, MA and Russell Bullen of Hernando, FL. He is also predeceased by his brothers, David Bullen of Southboro, MA and Kenneth Bullen of Oxford, MA. He is also survived by sister in laws, and many nieces and nephews. In his early years, he was all about his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed camping and spent many years at Normandy Farms Family Campground in Foxboro, MA. Family vacations meant everything to him as his family travelled up and down the east coast. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and travelling with his longtime girlfriend, Carol Morris, of Cheshire, CT to Fort Myers, FL for winters. He was predeceased also by his best friend of over 50 years, Richard Hurd of Franklin, MA. They were inseparable always helping each other around their houses. His working career was driving tractor trailers locally. He worked over 30 years for S.M. Lorusso and Sons in Walpole, MA. Pat Lampasona got him the job and they were always good friends. They both were in Teamsters Local 653. In retirement, he spend a lot of time with his kids and grandchildren spending time in Franklin, MA and then in Fuquay - Varina, NC after travelling to Florida became to difficult. There will be no services and a Celebration of Life is being planned for the spring. The family will reach out with arrangements once they are finalized. His ashes will be placed next to his wife, in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Franklin, MA. Events Details are pending.
