Mr. Elliott Wilkie Cheatham, 43 years old, of Garner passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming. Please keep the family lifted in prayer. Elliott Wilkie Cheatham Jr., was born March 4, 1977 to Slowanda Jones Cheatham and the late Elliott Wilkie Cheatham Sr. in Lynchburg, VA. JR was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Brookneal, VA. Elliott was an amazing All-Star athlete and excellent in every sport he participated in. Football was his favorite. He was a great protector for his family and an excellent outdoorsman. JR was cunning, clever, and charming in many ways. And, he kept a smile on his face. JR leaves, to cherish his memories: his beloved Mother, Slowanda Cheatham of Raleigh; three brothers and one sister, the late Steven Jones; surviving siblings: Mark Jones, Matthew Jones, and Teresa Cheatham of Raleigh (Derek Elliott, Tony Elliott, Jasmine Elliott, and Janelle Elliott) Children: Two daughters Tiye Cheatham and Jaydan Cheatham, three sons Vashaun Cheatham, Alonzo Cheatham, and Desmin Cheatham, a host of relatives , friends, and a special friend Dora Lovick. The Arrangements are tentatively slated for a Viewing to be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1 PM and will end at 2 PM. Please wear masks and gloves in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The Funeral Ceremony is closed to the guest list provided by the family. It is tentatively slated to be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Events Details are pending.
