Elder Bette Smalls of Selma, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. Funeral arrangements are as follows: CELEBRATION OF LIFE Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM The services will be conducted at New Covenant Fellowship Ministries located at 2593 Clover Hill Road Green Pond, SC 29446. Life has many ups and downs The bitter and the sweet, Each day is filled with problems Which tend to make us weak. But through your faith and Jesus' love You will endure the trials. And you will find your burdens lightened As you walk that golden mile. Elder Bette J. Smalls peacefully joined the Lord on January 5th, 2024, at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie C. and Mary Brisbon Davis, and two brothers, John M. and Michael T. Davis. Bette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wesley Smalls; sister, Lilian Miller; brother, Charles Davis (Dawn); brothers-in-law, George Brown (Patricia), Leon Brown (Viola), Herman Brown, Curtis Brown, Anthony Brown, and sister-in-law, Ivenia McDaniels. She leaves behind three devoted children: Jerome Smalls (Tunji), Wesley C. Smalls, and Dawn Glover (William). Bette was also blessed with six grandchildren: William Glover Jr, Tyler Mitchell (Brian), Kobe Garrett (Jakiera), Jordan Smalls, India Glover, and Ashlyn Garrett. Her legacy extends to a great-grandson, Kyrie Glover, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Born on December 3, 1947, in Richmond, VA, Bette moved from New York to Green Pond, South Carolina, during her childhood. She received her education in the Colleton County School system. Bette was a resilient business owner, operating Bette's Cleaning Service for 40 years until her well-deserved retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, giving her life to the Lord many years ago and remaining actively involved in church activities until her health began to decline.
