Bertha Yvonne Terry

Bertha Yvonne Simmons-Terry was granted her angel wings on September 14, 2014. With her son by side, her final days were spent at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab on Sunnybrook Road. Bertha Yvonne Simmons was born to the late Lois Marie Simmons-Baker and William Edward Williams April 6th, 1955 in Goldsboro, NC.She attended Garner consolidated high school and later ventured off in the work field. She was a nurse for over 20 years, until her recent passion for a new career. She then worked for WCPSS bus system for 5 years. She married the late Algie Lee Terry. She has 2 sons, Curtis Lee Terry and William Devon Terry. She has 1 grandson, Devon Dazaune Terry, and a great grandson, Bradyn Dazaune Terry. Yvonne is survived by her mother Thelma Louise Williams. She leaves to mourn 5 sisters: Linda Carol Gales, Annie Merriel Williams, Wilma Gray Williams, Angela Rose Williams, and Pamela Gail Williams. She leaves 4 brothers: James Edward Williams, Dennis Leon Williams, Thomas Earl Brockington, and James Edward "Pokey" King. She also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Raleigh, NC. She was very passionate about helping others and spreading her love. She was very active in her church community. The Terry family is asking for donations to be made directly to the funeral home in an effort to finalize burial arrangements a.s.a.p. Arrangements are pending for either Saturday or Sunday.
