Bedford Bray

SP5 Bedford Eugene "Gene" Bray, 71, passed peacefully at the Durham NC VA Hospital on February 15, 2018. He served as a Medical Specialist through his two Tours of Duty in the US Army stationed in TX, CO, Korea, & Germany. Gene was born on August 10, 1946 in Dallas, TX and is preceded in passing by his parents: Frank and Esta Lee Bray. After his military service, Gene worked in the grocery business at Kroger's, Hannaford and Harris Teeter. He made many friends during this time and loved to be the guy that made people smile & laugh. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky, and their children Andrea Bray, Robert Bray, Randall Bray & his girlfriend Caroline Hubbard Careaga-Sisk (whom Gene considered a daughter). Gene will always be remembered as an avid fisherman, softball player and animal lover. He looked forward to the day when he would be reunited with his beloved dog Sandy Pup; we know she greeted him with tail wagging. A memorial service will take place at Lori's Funeral Home on Sunday, February 25th at 2 PM for friends and family to visit the family and pay respects.
