Annetta Fannon Obituary DOD - 12/24/2022 Annetta Francis Fannon was brought into the world on November 11, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her late parents were Arlena Green-Ewing and William Green Sr., although Annetta believed her birthdate had been misstated by both the government and her mother, she sometimes would say November 12th was her birthdate. Despite being only 80 years old when she sadly passed away in North Carolina on December 24th of 2022, she left behind a legacy as an adored mother, grandmother, and sister. With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our beloved Annetta who was survived by her children Valerie R. Wadlington, Cherrisse D. Fannon, and Wallace Fannon III, with four grandchildren Erika Wadlington, Vania Wadlington, Gabrielle Fannon, and Giovanni Fannon. In addition to being a great-grandmother, she doted on her great-grands with immense love and pride as a devoted Christian woman. In addition to her faith, she dedicated much of her time to gardening and horticulture, as well as mastering the levels of Candy Crush! Annetta was baptized at an early age at Revelation Baptist Church in OH. She was a faithful member of Greater New Light Baptist Church for many years, being on the usher board and a member of the choir. Later in life, she was a steward of Tryed Stone Missionary Baptist Church and Turning Point Church before moving to Cary, NC. She was the "baby girl" of the family being the 5th child out of 7 siblings. She graduated from Withrow High School where she met and later married the late Wallace Fannon Jr. Annetta Fannon started her working career at Cincinnati-based retailer Swallens, where she served as an accountant until the company was forced to shut down its doors. To stay competitive in the transforming job market of the 80s, she attended classes to learn data entry and subsequently worked for Burke Company in Data Entry. Later on, Annetta Fannon decided it was time to reinvent herself and began a customer service career with Staples office located in Georgia - unfortunately leaving leading up to her retirement because of medical problems. Unflinching in her pursuits, Annetta possessed a fervent curiosity for national events and an ardent desire to explore. With her trademark humor and magnanimous nature, she believed that anything was within reach: "There is nothing ya can not do". Her fearlessness has continued to inspire her loved ones ever since. Ms. Annetta Fannon is preceded in death by her beloved late husband Wallace Fannon Jr., and Brothers William Green Jr., Marvin Green, and Ronald Green. She will be fondly remembered by those left behind including her sister Betty Miller, as well as her Aunt Alice Cooper (Clarence Brown) and brothers Gregory Green and Anthony Green (Patsy Green). Along with a host of many other family and friends. To celebrate Annetta's life a memorial service will take place at Turning Point House of Zion Church on an upcoming date this year to honor her memory in Cincinnati, Ohio - the city where she was born and called home. Annetta Fannon was a brave soul who will be deeply missed by all those she touched. The immediate family has respected her wishes and arranged for cremation as well as a private viewing at Lori's Funeral Home in Raleigh NC on the eve of New Year's Day, gathering only close friends and loved ones to pay their respects. 1/25/2023
