Zevell Mason Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Mason’s arrangements are slated as follows: The Celebration of His Life Ceremony will be observed on Saturday, July 9, 2022 beginning with a 12 Noon Visitation and 1 PM Funeral Ceremony. The Graveside Ceremony and Burial will be announced at a later date once confirmed by the Military. *Please wear a face mask for entry into our establishment since we are actively still inside the COVID-19 Pandemic.* Obituary: Zevell Osborne Mason was called to rest on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He departed peacefully at Cone Health Hospital in Burlington, North Carolina. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 25, 1954, to the late George and Julia Mason. Zevell attended John Graham High School in Warren County, North Carolina, and graduated in 1974. He knew he wanted to continue the family legacy, so he joined the Air Force in 1978. He received an honorary discharge from the military in 1992. Zevell honored his veteran status so much that he thanked other veterans everywhere he went and would always wear his veteran hat. After leaving the military, Zevell was employed with the US Postal Service for twenty years, retiring in 2009. Zevell loved photography, jazz music, and watching old movies. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. We will treasure his memories, stories, and the valuable lessons he left with us. Zevell was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Mason; sister, LaQuinta Cozart Mason; and son, Carlos Mason. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 36 years, Aracelly Mason; six children, Letisha Smith (Kenny), Marcel Mason, Royce (Crystal) Mason, Ramon (Markisha) Mason, Jeisiany Mason, and Ti-Le Mason; five grandchildren, Mnai, Antwain, Austin, Myles, and David; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
