John Christoffersen

June 28, 1985 - November 28, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of our only son, John Carl Christoffersen. He was born June 28, 1985 and grew up in Livermore, CA. After a hard fought battle with a particularly aggressive colon cancer, he passed away at our home in Willow Spring, NC on Nov 28, 2021. He was 36. He will be missed by our family more than he could ever know. As a child, John was bright, curious, and mischievous. He began a lifetime love of reading, hunting fishing, and video games. As a teen, he found a passion for patriotism and politics, as well as a love of hard rock music, especially Metallica, Linkin Park, and System of a Down, live concerts, online gaming, and sharing these activities with his friends Chris, Kyle, Meric, and Eric. Independent minded, he refused smoking, drugs and alcohol. As an adult, John pursued knowledge about US/world history, military strategy/weaponry, wildlife of all kinds, and anything else that piqued his interest. His patriotism and respect for the genius of the founding fathers guided his politics always. One could often catch him watching the news, enjoying 80's cult classic movies, re-reading Star Wars fan fiction and Lord of the Rings, and digging into our family ancestry. He became proficient in assisting with home kidney dialysis. He enjoyed shooting Sporting Clays, with a special interest in antique side-by-side shotguns. He was a member of the LC Smith Collectors Assn, and sometimes represented them in competitions. He devoted himself to our family, doted on his niece and nephews, and would do (and did) anything he could to make them happy. Better late than never, he confirmed his Catholic faith, to the glory of our lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his parents Dan and Jenny Christoffersen, his only sister Katie Pilkington, brother-in-law Phillip, niece Jessica, and nephews Tyler and Jacob. He is also survived by a large extended family, including but not limited to Marietta Christoffersen, Debi and Paul Brley, (Dana, Paul, and Crystal), Dana and Robin Christoffersen, (Nichole and Shayne), Darla Christoffersen, (Carl Douglas and Cindy), Petrea and Alan Brackett, (Hunter, Parker, Hayden, and Brennan), Kenny and Eileen Delvaux, (Ashley, Robert, and Ryan), Jacque Delvaux Servadio and Norma Diaz, (Alexis), Damon Delvaux, Cathy White, (Shannon and Travis), Renee Combes, (Chris, Kenny, Kevin and Troy), Dorothea Fynaut, (Patrick and Calli), and his beloved beagle Chester. He will be welcomed into heaven by grandparents Carl Christoffersen, Paula Newsome, John Delvaux, Bob and Kate Blackwell, and other loved ones. In accordance with his wishes, in lieu of a service, his cremated ashes will be dispersed as he requested. Donations made in his honor to organizations fighting cancer, preserving wildlife or protecting the 2nd amendment are always welcomed.
